Q: If I am a club member and want to book a room for a family member, how should I proceed?
A: Club members can make reservations for family members. In order to receive the club member discount, the room must be reserved with the member account (credit cards are not accepted). If the club member requests to pay for room and tax, an authorization form must be completed and faxed to the reservations department at (561) 655-3577. A copy of the club member card is requested with the authorization form. Club Members may also present their card to the Front Desk.
Q: What is the member discount for rooms?
A: Club members at The Breakers receive a 10% discount on our rack rates and promotional rates. This discount is applicable to all room categories, except during black out dates. Black out dates: 12/16/09-01/03/10, 02/10/10-02/17/10
Q: What is the cancellation policy at The Breakers?
A: Cancellation policy: All deposits are refundable if cancelled: April 13 - November 21, 2009: 3 days prior to arrival November 22 - November 30, 2009: 14 days prior to arrival December 1 - December 15, 2009: 3 days prior to arrival December 16 - January 3, 2010: On or before November 1, 2009
Q: What is the deposit policy?
A: The Breakers requires a one nights deposit at the time of booking to secure a reservation. For reservations booked between the dates of December 16, 2009 - January 3, 2010, full prepayment of the reservation is due by November 1, 2009.
Q: What is the room tax at The Breakers?
A: Our room tax is 5% and our sales tax is 6.5%; totaling 11.5% tax.
Q: Why can I not make a room reservation after 4:00 p.m.?
A: At The Breakers, it is standard hotel policy not to accept reservations for arrivals the same day after 4.00 p.m. In order to provide the best service possible for our arriving guests, we are unable to accept reservations past 4 PM. The Reservations Department can check alternate dates for you. You may contact our Reservations Department at 1-888-BREAKERS (273-2537) or (561) 659-8440.
Q: Why does it take so long for a deposit to reflect on my credit card account when it was deducted from my credit card so quickly?
A: The Breakers apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused you. The time it takes for your deposit to display on your credit card account/statement is determined by the processing cycle of your credit card company. We advise you to contact your credit card company directly.
Q: Is my credit card automatically charged after I book my reservation?
A: The Breakers does require a one-night deposit at time of booking in order to secure a reservation. The amount is deducted automatically from your credit card account.
Q: Are you able to view my credit card information on a past reservation and use it to secure my new reservation?
A: For security reasons, we are not in the position to view credit card information from past reservations.
Q: Are the beach bungalows accessible for persons who are disabled?
A: The pool area, at The Breakers, is accessible to guests who are disabled. The Breakers features an Active Beach Bungalow, which is ADA approved.
Q: What is the temperature of the pools?
A: The temperature of the pools is approximately 84 degrees.
Q: Does the Italian Restaurant and Seafood Bar take reservations?
A: The Italian Restaurant and Seafood Bar do not accept reservations. You may dine there at your leisure.
Q: What makes the Sunday Brunch at The Breakers priceless?
A: The Breakers celebrated Sunday Brunch is one of Palm Beach’s favorite gatherings featuring an array of sumptuous stations using only the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients. Our buffet includes a raw bar, sushi bar, caviar station, carving station as well as an elaborate dessert display. Sunday Brunch is offered at $90.00 ++ per person and $40.00 ++ for children under the age of 11; includes coffee, tea, champagne, orange juice and mimosas. Q: Does the hotel offer live Entertainment?
A: The Breakers does provide live entertainment during our high season. Guests may enjoy the wonderful sounds of a Jazz Trio Band or a Solo Pianist, Sunday through Friday nights, in our Tapestry Bar. Reservations are not required and the Tapestry Bar is open to local and outside guests.
Q: What activities do you have for children at the hotel?
A: The Breakers offers an extensive range of recreational activities for families traveling with children. Some of these activities include water sports, local tours, Family Entertainment Center featuring an arcade room, a game room featuring Xbox and Play Station 2, a movie room/theater, a playground and an outdoor sports court. The hotel also offers “Coconut Crew Day Camp,” which features full and half day sessions for children 3-12 years of age.
Q: What is the general dress code within the hotel?
A: The dress code at The Breakers is resort casual.
Q: Where can you smoke within the hotel?
A: The Breakers is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted anywhere outside of the building.
Q: Why does the hotel provide Pack N’ Plays instead of cribs?
A: Based on guest feedback requesting Pack N’ Plays, The Breakers has converted to using Pack N’ Plays instead of cribs.
Q: Does the hotel offer wheelchairs free of charge?
A: The Breakers offer wheelchairs free of charge for temporary use at the hotel. If a wheelchair is needed for an extended period of time, the Concierge can assist with making rental arrangements for your stay.
Q: How far is your hotel from Miami?
A: The Breakers is located approximately 90 minutes north of Miami.
Q: Do we need to rent a car?
A: The Breakers provides an all-encompassing resort experience and is located in the heart of Palm Beach within walking distance of local restaurants, bars, attractions and entertainment. On site resort amenities include: 8 restaurants, luxury spa, 36 holes of championship golf, 10 tennis courts, world-class shopping world class shopping, family entertainment center, water sports and many more exciting activities. Should you require a rental car, please contact our Concierge who can assist you.
Q: What is the average time for a spa treatment?
A: The average length of time for a spa treatment is 80 minutes.
Q: Why are rates not negotiable, and do you offer better rates online?
A: A stay at The Breakers is an authentic one-of-a-kind experience and we are committed to offering competitive rates, which are not negotiable. The rates offered at www.thebreakers.com and through Voice Reservations are the same. Our goal is to make it easy for guests to find the best rate possible regardless of how they book.
Q: Does the hotel offer golf and/or spa packages?
A: The Breakers does not offer packages that include golf or spa and your room. These amenities are offered A la Carte with golf rates starting at $205.00 for 18 holes and $135.00 for 9 holes at The Ocean Course. Golf rates at our Reese Jones Course start at $215.00 for 18 holes and $150.00 for 9 holes. Reduced golf rates are offered from June to September. To reserve golf tee times contact 1-888-BREAKERS (273-2537) and for The Spa at The Breakers, please call (561) 653-6656. Spa day packages are available excluding room.
Q: How long is the waitlist and where am I on the waitlist?
A: The Breakers waitlist is computer generated and is printed as accommodations become available. Guests are contacted based on their requested dates and the date they were placed on the list.
Q: Can you waitlist me for a room/suite category that I want?
A: The Breakers can waitlist you for any desired dates though we do not accept waitlists for specific guest room or suite categories.
Q: Do the windows in the guest rooms open?
A: All guest rooms feature minimum one window that can be opened.
Q: Are your rooms renovated?
A: The Breakers averages $25 million a year in capital expenditures, which is invested in the revitalization and enhancement the property to ensure the guest-room and resort experience is appealing for decades to come.
Q: Are there coffee makers in the rooms?
A: The Breakers accommodations are not equipped with a coffee maker. The Breakers News and Gourmet Shop offers gourmet coffee starting at 6:30 AM until 9:00 PM everyday. Room service is also available 24 hours a day.
Q: Why does the hotel not guarantee room numbers, location, bedding, early check-ins and/or late checkouts?
A: The Breakers cannot guarantee these requests due to circumstances beyond the hotels control that frequently occur.
Q: Do all of the rooms have balconies?
A: At The Breakers, the following accommodations feature a step-out balcony Premium Full Oceanfront Rooms, Oceanfront Suites, Premium Full Oceanfront Suites, Royal Poinciana Suites and Imperial Suites.
Q: Do you have any suites available with double beds?
A: Yes, The Breakers offers the Junior Suite with double beds. Stylish and refined, this new guest room category is newly renovated and offers an oversized bedroom/sitting area combination with a residential feel. Junior Suites are approx. 500 square feet in size, available king size or with two double beds providing an authentic one-of-a-kind experience, which includes luxury accommodations complete with your own private Grand Cabana available daytime at The Beach Club - complimentary benefit. Blackout dates may apply during which the cabana is not available. Ideal for families.
Q: Does The Breakers offer 2 or 3 bedroom suites with a kitchenette?
A: The Breakers accommodates requests for 2 or 3 bedroom suites by offering connecting a suite with guest rooms. Suites are not equipped with kitchenettes. The Breakers offers 24-hour room service and can place a small refrigerator in the room upon request.
Q: Why can’t the Superior Room category accommodate more than two persons? What about two small children?
A: Due to fire regulations, safety procedures and room size, up to 2 guests can occupy the Superior guest-rooms. The Breakers Superior guest room is approximately 250 square feet in size and accommodates comfortable two guests. For a family, we recommend booking a Deluxe Room or a Suite as they accommodate families more comfortably.
Q: What makes The Breakers Experience distinctive?
A: The Breakers is celebrated for its heritage, gracious service and legendary oceanfront location in the heart of Palm Beach.
Q: Can you sleep in the bungalows or cabanas?
A: The Breakers Beach Bungalows and Grand Cabanas are available exclusively for daytime rental from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. (extended to 7:00 p.m. during daylight saving); overnight stays are not permitted.
Q: Can guests not staying in the hotel use the beach and pool area as well as rent a cabana or beach bungalow for the day?
A: The Breakers offers access to the beach and pool exclusively to hotel guests and club members; guests of club members or hotel guests are subject to a fee of $40 per person. Beach Bungalows and Grand Cabanas are available to hotel guests and club members for daytime rental. For rentals, please call (561) 659-8440 Outside guests are welcome to reserve spa services at The Spa at The Breakers. For spa services, please call (561) 653-6656.
Q: What is the closest airport to the hotel?
A: The closest airport to the hotel is The Palm Beach International Airport (PBI). It is approximately 7 miles from the hotel, which represents a 15-minute car ride.
Q: Do you have Wireless Internet Access in the guest rooms?
A: The Breakers offers you in-room high-speed Internet access. The connection fee is $12.95 and is based on a 24-hour period as long as the connection is from the guestroom applies. You simply connect your computer via a port provided by Wayport. The resorts does offer Wireless Internet Access in our beach bungalows, which are available for daytime rental and are located by the pool area. Additionally, Internet access is available in our 24-hour business center; a $20 charge applies for unlimited access until 11:59 p.m. that day. The Breakers is planning to provide in-room Wireless Internet Access in the future.
Q: Does the hotel offer self-parking?
A: The Breakers offers valet parking only. Valet fees are $20 for hotel guests and $30 day guests. Parking will be validated for outside guests with a receipt of $30.00 or more from any of our distinctive restaurants and boutiques.
Q: Does the hotel allow pets?
A: The Breakers can provide a list of local dog daycare centers since we do not allow pets at the resort.
Q: Does the hotel offer a shuttle service to and from the airport, and to local areas such as Downtown West Palm, City Place, and Worth Avenue?
A: The Breakers offers transportation services via our in-house Transportation Company, Dav EL, who can assist with your airport transfers or any other requests. Rates start at $80.57 for a sedan (one-way) from the Palm Beach International Airport. Should you require assistance please call (561) 687-9454. Taxies are also readily available at the airport and the resort for your convenience. The cost is $20 (including tip) from the airport to the hotel. The Breakers associates at the Front Desk, Front Door or the Concierge will be more than happy to assist with arranging a taxi during your stay at the hotel.
Q: Why are spa rates not listed online?
A: The Spa at The Breakers offers an enticing and elaborate collection of signature spa services. Rates and treatments are subject to change throughout the year and therefore pricing is not listed on our website. Should you require assistance with your spa services please call a Spa attendant at (561) 653-6656.
Q: Does The Breakers offer packages where meals are included with the room?
A: The Breakers rates on accommodations include your room while meals plans or all-inclusive rates are not available. Resort dining is available a la carte in our 9 distinctive restaurants.
Q: Does the hotel offer AAA, Senior Citizen or Florida Resident discounts and/or rates?
A: While we may not offer special rates for AAA, Senior Citizen or Florida Residents, The Breakers does offer our signature promotion entitled Stay Longer and Save from May 4 – December 15, 2008. The longer you stay with us the greater your savings.
