WEST PALM BEACH, FL, – After a complete makeover of the former Governors Club at Phillips Point in downtown West Palm Beach, The Breakers Palm Beach is unveiling the spectacular new Phillips Point Club by The Breakers on November 3. Located atop the Phillips Point building’s East Tower, this breathtaking, penthouse-style city club is the new jewel among the region’s metropolitan club memberships and represents a relevant and refreshing new archetype for that category.

Following its takeover of the Club in June 2008, The Breakers embarked on an intense, four-month renovation and a full-scope, organizational renewal to re-position the traditional Club environment, from ambiance to staffing. The Phillips Point Club has re-emerged as an engaging epicenter for the area’s business, social and civic communities.
In contrast with many other private, member-based enclaves and their more formal environments, this distinguished Club embraces members with a captivating warmth and energy. For Colonnade Properties, which purchased the Phillips Point towers in August 2007, The Breakers’ entrepreneurial success in club membership, resort and culinary operations ultimately led to its lease and management agreement to take over the Club. This new partnership continues the Resort’s carefully moderated path of expanding its expertise off site. Other thriving ventures by The Breakers include the highly acclaimed Asian restaurant, Echo, in Palm Beach; the world-class catering subsidiary Special Impressions (based at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts) and Breakers West Country Club, both in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The former Governors Club had been operated by ClubCorp for almost 25 years, but members of the Phillips Point Club retain affiliation with the ClubCorp network and continue to enjoy reciprocity privileges with other ClubCorp Associate Clubs and Resorts around the country.
