Master perfumer Jacques Guerlain created this timeless and beloved scent in 1925 based on the story of Shah Jahan, the great Indian emperor who fell in love with Muntaz Mahal. They met in a beautiful garden called Shalimar. Devastated by her death, he built a great monument for her, the Taj Mahal. Shalimar is a sophisticated blend of citrus, flower and woodsy, spicy notes.
