Exceptional Water Sports, a Bounty of Marine Life
The Breakers Palm Beach is the best-kept-secret for those who want soft adventure in tandem with a luxury resort experience. Set against one of Florida’s finest beaches and located just a half mile from incredible coral reefs, The Beach Club offers active travelers a dynamic menu of water sports – a comprehensive scuba diving program and certification, snorkeling, reef tours and kayak excursions and boogie board and paddle board rentals – and access to an amazing sanctuary of marine life.
The natural treasures found offshore are attributed to two different hurricanes dating back to the 1920s, which destroyed a 1000-foot pier that extended out from The Breakers' shoreline. The ruins beneath the sea resulted in extraordinary pristine coral reef formations – now a habitat for some 400 plus species of marine life including fish, crustaceans, sponges and invertebrates. Today, the reef is sought out by water sports enthusiasts from around the globe, who have observed everything from turtles to stingrays within a mile of the sands of The Breakers. Voted in the top 100 by Scuba Diving, for best fish life and best overall diving, Palm Beach County’s natural reefs begin just off The Breakers with reef lines at 25, 60, 80 and 100 feet along the coast.
The resort’s expertly trained water sports team offers personalized adventures for experienced sports enthusiasts and memorable excursions for amateurs. Scuba, snorkeling and boating are among its most popular offerings – activities that enable guests to visit myriad sea life, explore different areas of Palm Beach by boat, or take out a kayak for some fun at sea.
Scuba lessons are available for adults and children (8 and older) as follows:
- Discover Scuba (8 years and up): provides non-divers the opportunity to dive in the safe and controlled confines of a swimming pool
- Discover Scuba Diving (10 years and up): uncertified divers experience ocean encounter under direct supervision of PADI instructor
- Certification Course (10 years and up): provides necessary training to become PADI certified open water diver. Includes 3-4 pool sessions, 3-4 classroom sessions and four dives. Minimum four days
Keylypso – a power catamaran for snorkeling or cruising guests. A professional captain and crew will provide personal service to ensure that every excursion is as fun and exciting as possible. Refreshments are served during each trip.
