  • Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) for lower to middle income families
  • Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) for lower to middle income families and students with unique abilities
  • Hope Scholarship for public school students who experienced bulling or violence
  • Reading Scholarship Accounts for public school students in kindergarten through fifth grade who struggle with reading

The Specialized Alzheimer's Day Care Program is part of a holistic model of care that equips families with resources to care for their loved one with Alzheimer’s throughout the disease progression. The program provides comprehensive dementia-specific patient care at 8 centers across Palm Beach County that lessen the impact of behaviors associated with Alzheimer's disease, while family caregivers receive respite from the challenges of 24/7 care giving.

At Adopt-A-Family, their mission is to strengthen families with children in their efforts to achieve stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services. Since 1983, Adopt-A-Family has grown into the largest service provider for homeless families in Palm Beach County - providing access to services for more than 2,000 families with children per year. 


Adopt-A-Family - Housing Stabilization

Adopt-A-Family’s Housing Stabilization Program prevents homelessness for lower-income Palm Beach County families who can’t pay their rent because they’re enduring an unanticipated crisis – typically an illness, injury, or job loss. By providing short-term rent/utility assistance augmented by case management, the program provides a safety net while families return to self-reliance. 


EAP - VITA tax prep

United Way of Palm Beach County has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide free, confidential, and secure preparation and e-filing of tax returns to qualified taxpayers.  

To qualify, taxpayer’s household income must have been $75,000 or less in 2023. 


Hunger Relief 


Boca Helping Hands

Boca Helping Hands provides food, job training, access to healthcare and financial assistance to help individuals and families improve their quality of life and build financial stability. They have a hot meal program, a pantry, and deliver meals to homebound seniors. Boca Helping Hands provides limited financial assistance to qualifying residents in crisis. Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Care vouchers are available to qualifying, uninsured individuals in Palm Beach County. Boca Helping Hands also provides limited financial assistance to parents/guardians for childcare costs. They also offer opportunities for non-native English speakers to practice and learn.

YWCA of Palm Beach County - Child Development Center

The YWCA Child Development Center is a school readiness program that provides free, quality childcare for children ages 3 to 5 years of age from low to moderate income families. The Center is nationally accredited and provides year-round services for a full 10 hours a day. 


YMCA of the Palm Beaches - Adaptive Swim

The adaptive swim program consists of 8 private one-on-one swim lessons per session aimed at providing adults and children with varying mental and physical abilities a chance to learn how to swim. Trained instructors tailor each session to provide the best learning experience for each individual.

Since its founding in 1989, Caridad Center has become the largest free clinic in Florida. The clinic serves 5,000 uninsured, economically disadvantaged Palm Beach County residents. Patients receive medical, dental, vision, specialty and mental health services from Caridad's staff and 700+ medical volunteers.

For over three decades, Families First has been providing a hand up to families so they can find their way back to self-sufficiency and provide safe, loving homes for their children. Our services are directed toward family strengthening, health, behavioral health, and housing. Many of the 51,000 children and family members served through our prevention and early intervention services since 1990 have returned to being contributing, self-sustaining members of our communities – saving taxpayers millions of dollars in dependency and criminal justice services, special education, homeless services, and financial aid.

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health has been the foundation of their mission in Palm Beach County since being founded in 1999. They focus on promoting young children's mental health, well-being, and resilience. They are fighting the immediate and lifelong impact of exposure to abuse and violence on children. Their programs and expertise are grounded in research about brain development and the impact of trauma. They bring the science to practice, with interventions that have been proven. They know that in the absence of healthy relationships, violence and abuse in childhood can change the developing brain.
