Resort Manager
Biography
Barry Manners is a seasoned professional with more than 22 years of dedicated experience at The Breakers Palm Beach. He currently holds the position of Resort Manager at this prestigious, 140-acre oceanfront property, where he oversees all leisure and recreation operations for pool & beach, golf, tennis, spa and activities, as well as the maintenance of facilities and grounds. He leads a division of 350 individuals, including a specialized Member Services team that delivers exceptional, personalized concierge service for the hotel’s exclusive Ocean Club Membership. Manners is part of the Executive Group and reports directly to President Tricia Taylor.
With a robust background in operations management, Manners has forged a successful career in hospitality at this independent, family-owned enterprise. He began his journey at The Breakers in 2002 as a valet runner. His career quickly advanced, moving from luggage porter to assistant manager of guest services. By 2005, he was promoted to guest services manager, followed by rooms division manager (2006). He swiftly continued to rise through the ranks, eventually earning the title of Director of Recreation in 2015. In this role, Manners was able to evolve and expand his duties that began with oversight of pool & beach and activities, then grew to include golf, tennis and spa, and soon after, member services, facilities support and grounds maintenance. His exceptional contributions ultimately led to his current position of Resort Manager (2023).
Manners holds an MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He has also worked in game-day operations for the Miami Heat. A devoted community advocate, Manners supports multiple philanthropic partners such as Quantum House, the Palm Beach County Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity; he also served on the Board of the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association from 2019 to 2022.
