Biography
Fernando Teixeira is Senior Director of Meetings & Events at The Breakers Palm Beach, where he oversees the strategic vision, execution and revenue growth for the resort’s meetings and events division. He leads a team of 23 professionals across conference services and event sales, delivering flawlessly curated programs for some of the world’s most discerning guests and planners. His commitment to excellence and enduring partnerships is reflected in the fact that approximately 60% of group business comes from repeat clientele.
With more than 25 years in global luxury hospitality, Teixeira’s career spans iconic properties and internationally significant affairs. He began at Toronto’s historic King Edward Hotel, supporting programs for heads of state and members of the British Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II. He later advanced to Director of Conference Services & Catering at Fairmont Royal York, managing high-profile events such as the G8 and G20 Summits, royal state dinners, and the Bollywood Oscars.
In 2011, Teixeira moved to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, one of North America’s premier conference destinations, overseeing programming for the resort’s 300,000 square feet of function space. It was here he took on additional responsibilities of destination management, restaurant event sales and experiential group design, while spearheading the launch of a new conference center. He also contributed to a global Fairmont task force dedicated to elevating banquet and conference standards worldwide.
A defining milestone came in 2016, when Teixeira was appointed to the pre-opening leadership team at Fairmont Austin as Director of Conference Services & Catering. Over the next two years, he helped establish group strategy, service culture, and operational foundations, supporting major citywide conventions and hallmark events such as South by Southwest and Austin City Limits. He later served as Director of Food & Beverage at Fairmont Chicago before joining The Breakers in 2021.
Born in Lisbon and raised in Canada, Fernando blends tradition with innovation to deliver exceptional, thoughtfully designed events. His leadership philosophy emphasizes partnership, proactive communication, and purposeful creativity—defining modern luxury as not merely exceeding expectations, but elevating them.
