Biography
Jorge Cabrera Jr. serves as Senior Vice President of Accounting, Technology & Supply Chain at The Breakers Palm Beach - an iconic 140-acre oceanfront resort located in Palm Beach, FL. A dedicated member of the organization since 1991, Cabrera has built an extensive career through progressive leadership across multiple disciplines, playing a vital role in advancing the resort's operational excellence and strategic initiatives.
Cabrera began his journey at The Breakers in the receiving department and quickly advanced to the position of warehouse supervisor, managing the area’s on-site operations. In 1998, he transitioned to the corporate office as a financial analyst, concentrating on capital planning and project evaluation. His continued growth led to his promotion as hotel controller in 2002, where he oversaw accounting functions, budgeting and financial reporting.
In 2008, Cabrera expanded his responsibilities to include the technology division as Director of Accounting and Technology Services, leading efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. He was promoted to Vice President in 2020, adding oversight of strategic sourcing, procurement and contract administration. Today, as Senior Vice President and a member of the resort's Executive Group, Cabrera continues to drive cross-functional performance and innovation.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Cabrera is an active contributor to the local and professional community. He has served as chairperson and treasurer on Florida Atlantic University's National Alumni Board and has also held the position of board member and treasurer for the Resort Hotel Association. Currently, he serves on the boards of the Town of Palm Beach United Way and the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County. He is also a member of the advisory council for St. Ann Catholic School and Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Rinker School of Business.
