Biography
Mark Mantegna is a seasoned hospitality leader with more than 30 years of experience at The Breakers Palm Beach, one of America’s most iconic, family-owned luxury resorts. As Director of Quality & Service Improvement, he oversees initiatives that support operational excellence, guest-centric innovation and long-term strategic growth.
Collaborating with division heads, he is responsible for planning and guiding capital investment projects, including new business ventures, facility redevelopments, and service enhancements that elevate the guest experience. His work is integral to The Breakers’ continued evolution and vision as a thriving, independent resort destination.
Reporting directly to the president, Mantegna brings a multi-disciplinary background in world-class hotel operations to his position. After starting his career at The Breakers in 1993 as an Activities Leader, he steadily progressed through key managerial roles: Director of Recreation (2001), Rooms Division Manager (2003), and Spa Director (2005).
In 2009, he was appointed to the newly created Director of Quality & Service Improvement position—a testament to The Breakers’ commitment to nurturing talent and aligning roles with individual strengths and skillsets to cultivate meaningful careers. Known for his analytical abilities, problem-solving mindset, and passion for continuous improvement, he has been instrumental in advancing performance and service standards across the organization.
Mantegna holds a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a concentration in Resort and Property Management from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. Beyond his professional contributions, he is dedicated to giving back to the community, lending his time and expertise to United Way of Palm Beach County Allocations Committee, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County and the Palm Beach County Food Bank.
