The Breakers' world-class racquet facilities feature 16 state-of-the-art, open-air courts for tennis, pickleball and padel:

Four CapillaryFlow hydroponic grass courts incorporate underground irrigation and oxygen control, maintaining optimal growing and playing conditions, while achieving water savings of up to 85%; this is the first installation worldwide of this cutting-edge court technology
Six MOR Sports Group clay hydro courts integrate subsurface hydration systems that produce a consistent playing surface and water savings of 50%
Two MAPEI cushioned hardtop courts feature a more durable, softer surface and blended lines for combined tennis/pickleball play
- 104K sq. ft. complex debuted in late 2024 after a full-scale, $12M renovation, setting a new standard in recreational luxury
- Complex is exclusively available for registered hotel guests and club members

- Open-air comfort stations, adjacent to each court, offer refreshing retreats with a selection of premium amenities for between games, after sets and post-match
- Four shaded structures are set above four tennis and two pickleball courts to provide cover and protection from the sun and sub-tropical climate
- A Stretching Deck is equipped with accessories for warm-up and cool down
- LED lighting allows for evening play while reducing energy consumption by 50%
- The Veranda showcases reception, observation and lounge seating areas
Design
Inspired by classic tennis culture, the sophisticated ambiance is reminiscent of a grand estate. Long-standing partner, Tihany Design, enriched the casually-chic aesthetic with stylish furnishings that are inviting, purposeful and uniquely Palm Beach. Elegant white fencing encircles the grounds and courts, defining each space while seamlessly blending with the resort’s timeless charm.
Professional Staff
Ken Thompson serves as Director of Tennis, a 38-year veteran of The Breakers, and oversees tennis & racquet sports operations, instruction and events. Since joining the property in 1987, he has earned a devoted, multi-generational clientele.
- There are 14 USPTA and/or PTR-certified instructors with an average tenure of 12 years
- Other certified pros include four pickleball and one padel

Court Fees: Before 12 PM… $45 | After 12 PM… $35
- Rates per person, per session
- 60-minute singles or 90-minute doubles available
- Courts may be reserved up to 24 hours in advance
Private Instruction: 30 or 60 minutes… pricing varies based on pro ($110 - $345)
Group Clinics: available daily and include Sunrise Sweat, Advanced Cardio and 105 Night
- Comprehensive, 60-minute drills for all levels

Junior Academy: designed to instill an overall appreciation of racquet sports while developing the foundation for playing and enjoying the game
